Siedlec, Strzelce County

Schedlitz, Polish Siedlec is a town in Upper Silesia in the community room village ( Izbicko ) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1302.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921 109 voters voted to remain in Germany and 154 for Poland. Schedlitz remained with the German Reich. 1936, the town was renamed in Old Siedel. By 1945, the place was in the district of Great Strehlitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration, was renamed Siedlec and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 Schedlitz for Opole Voivodeship and the 1999 re-established powiat Strzelecki.

On 6 March 2006 the German Schedlitz was in the church parlor village belongs, is introduced as a second official language. On 20 May 2008, the City also received the official German place names Schedlitz. In December 2008, bilingual town signs were erected.
