Siege of Groenlo (1606)
The Siege of Groenlo by Spanish troops under the command of Ambrosio Spinola took place from 3rd to August 14, 1606 during the Eighty Years War and ended with the conquest of the city.
A few months later tried Prince Maurice of Orange retake the city, but failed due to poor planning and an intervention by Spinola. Groenlo remained until another siege in 1627 in Spanish hands.
