Siegfried Breuer

Siegfried Breuer ( * June 24, 1906 in Vienna, † February 1, 1954 in Weende in Göttingen ) was an Austrian stage and film actor, who also occasionally in feature films directed and wrote screenplays.

Life

His father Hans Breuer (1868/1870-1929) was a native of Cologne opera singer and actor in Vienna. Siegfried Wagner was his godfather. Breuer was trained at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna as an actor and in 1924 made ​​his stage debut at the Vienna People's Theatre. He played the next few years, especially in Vienna, Prague and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin.

To the film he came relatively late and was soon subscribed to elegant but unprincipled seducer as in The postmaster (1940 ) or romance in Moll ( 1943) and served in anti-Semitic productions also the stereotype of the evil Jews ( The way out 1940/41, Venus in court, 1941).

After 1945 he led in three films directed by himself and was further seen as an actor in movies and on stage. Siegfried Breuer was married six times, including with the actresses Maria Andergast, Eva -Maria Meineke and Lia Condrus. His sons Walter and Wolfgang Breuer Condrus were also an actor as well as his grandson Jacques Breuer and Pascal Breuer. He was buried at the city cemetery in Göttingen.
