Siegfried Fricke

Siegfried Fricke ( born November 19, 1954 in Bralorne, British Columbia, Canada ) is a German politician ( CDU) and successful rower and Olympic athletes. He is a lieutenant colonel in the reserve.

Life and career

After graduating from the Goethe School in Wetzlar he went to the Bundeswehr. This he left as a lieutenant colonel of the reserve. He then studied at the Technical College for Administration of the State of Hesse in Frankfurt am Main. He held various public service activities, including the mayor of the town of Königstein im Taunus and as a full-time county councilor of the district of Gießen.

Fricke was successful athletes: As rowers RG Wetzlar, he participated in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal in part. At age 18, he won the first of three German championship titles in his career. 1976, at age 21, he was in the four with coxswain third in the Summer Olympic Games of Montreal. 1980 prevented the German Olympic boycott participate again Fricke at the Olympic Games.

He is married and has two children.

Public offices

Fricke was initially in the personnel and organization of the City of Frankfurt am Main, then worked for his home village hut mountain. Subsequently, he was first councilor in Raunheim and mayor in Königstein im Taunus. From 2006 to 2011 he was Assistant Full-time in the district of Gießen. In the direct elections to the district administrator in the district casting on 7 June 2009 Fricke ran as the CDU candidate. He defeated his challenger Anita Schneider of the SPD.
