Sieglinde Wagner

Sieglinde Wagner ( * April 21, 1921 in Linz, † December 31, 2003 in Berlin) was an Austrian contralto.

Wagner was born in Linz on the Danube. She studied in Linz and Munich. In 1947 she was first engaged at the Vienna State Opera, already taken two years later by Wilhelm Furtwängler at the Salzburg Festival, where she participated under his direction in the Magic Flute. Thanks to the successful cooperation undertook Furtwängler the young singer for Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen at La Scala in Milan, where she appeared in the role of Floßhilde and Grimgerde.
