Sight-reading

The term sight-singing (even prima vista singing, sight singing, isolated sight-singing ) describes the ability for the direct implementation of a read from the sheet sequence of intervals in the tones to be sung without the aid of an instrument. In general, the initial note is indicated. So-called absolute listeners also need not do this because they really all frequency sounds - just absolutely accurate in pitch - can play.

Secure mastery of the blade singing is an important prerequisite for many musical activities. Therefore, leaf Sing- tasks in academic and musicological area often included in entrance and final examinations; many music colleges and universities offer special courses in sight-singing. Also for the participation in choirs fine performance class and even more so for the choirmaster activity safe sight-reading is required.
