Sigma Chi

Sigma Chi ( ΣΧ ) is one of the compounds of male students in the U.S.. Founded these social embossed connection in 1855 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It is part of the Miami Triad.

Sigma Chi had seven founding fathers: Benjamin Piatt Runkle, Thomas Cowan Bell, William Lewis Lockwood, Isaac M. Jordan, Daniel William Cooper, Franklin Howard Scobey, James Parks Caldwell. To this day, is the motto of Sigma Chi " In Hoc Signo Vinces " ( " In this sign you will conquer " ). The colors of the association are gold and blue, her symbol is a white cross. Its headquarters is located in Evanston, Illinois. Currently comprised Sigma Chi brothers 213 535 with 233 chapters at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and 145 student groups around the world.

On 16 November 2006 the first meeting of the European Sigma Chi Alumni Chapters was held in London. This was the first Alumni ( = former ) Chapters outside of the United States and involved some 200 Sigma Chi Alumnies.
