Signature Records

Signature Records was an American independent jazz label that was founded in 1942 by Bob Thiele. The label existed until 1949.

Signature Records is considered a major record label in the first half of the 1940s recordings by artists such as Anita O'Day, Coleman Hawkins, Eddie Lawrence, Ray Anthony, Barbara McNair, Johnny Bothwell, Monica Lewis, Dickie Thompson, later in the 1950s years, by Ray Bryant, Tony Scott and Jimmy Rowles published. The later Impulse! - Producer Bob Thiele produced for Signature in the 1940s successful titles such as " I Got Rhythm ", " I'm Fer It Too " and "Linger Awhile " by Lester Young and " Get Happy ," " Crazy Rhythm " and " The Man I Love" by Coleman Hawkins. Recordings of the label were re-released as a record on Bob Thiele Music and Dr Jazz. Parts of the catalog published later in CD form on Fresh Sound Records.

In 2007, a pop label of Max Martin was founded under the name " Signature Records ".
