Signmark

Signmark is a Finnish hip- hop band. Head of the group of deaf rapper Marko Vuoriheimo who works under the pseudonym Signmark. Together with the two hearing Heikki " Mahtotapa " Soini and Kim " Sulava " Eiroma it forms the eponymous band. He is the first commercially successful deaf rapper.

History

The band members have known each other since their youth, but after school we first went their separate ways. It was not until 2004, the MC Heikki Soini to chose a documentary about Finnish rap and reggae artist to film, he remembered that Vuoriheimo formerly known artists rap lyrics had been translated into sign language. It first came together for the documentation and finally - with DJ Sulava - the band Signmark.

Organization

On stage Mahtotapa Signmark lends his voice, Sulava is the DJ. Thus, the music both deaf and hearing people will be made available. Consequently, the first album Signmark appeared as a package consisting of audio CD and DVD, on which the videos can be viewed to the songs in sign language. While the lyrics are usually in Finnish Signmark alternates between Finnish, international or American Sign Language, depending on the country in which they occur. The lyrics of the band write Signmark and Mahtotapa together. These and Sulava produce the beats.
