Sikao District

Amphoe Sikao ( Thai: อำเภอ สิเกา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Trang. Trang Province is located in the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

The county is in the northwest of the province.

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from north-west clockwise): Amphoe Khlong Thom, Krabi and Amphoe Wang Wiset, Mueang Trang and Kantang Trang province. To the west lies the Andaman Sea.

History

Amphoe Sikao was 1887,. The current administration was officially opened on March 1, 1987.

Amphoe Sikao is divided into five subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 40 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Sikao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สิเกา ) consists of parts of the tambon Bo Hin,
  • Khuan Kun ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ควน กุน ) consists of parts of the tambon Kalase.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
