Silas L. Niblack

Silas Leslie Niblack ( born March 17, 1825 in Camden County, Georgia, † 13 February 1883 in Lake City, Florida ) was an American politician. In 1873, he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Silas Niblack was a cousin of William E. Niblack (1822-1893), who was sitting 1857-1875 for the State of Indiana in Congress. He attended the common schools. After a subsequent study of law and its done around 1851 admission to the bar he began in Lake City (Florida ) to work in his new profession. There, in the Columbia County, he served temporarily as restructuring judge.

Politically, Niblack member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1870 he was defeated in the first electoral district of Florida Republican Josiah T. Walls. Niblack appealed against the outcome of the election is a contradiction. In the meantime, Walls entered on March 4, 1871 from his position in Congress.
