Silence Is Golden is a song that was written by Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe in 1964. It was first released as a B- side of The Four Seasons hit Rag Doll.

The cover version of the English band The Tremeloes was a 1967 number -one hit in the UK charts in Austria, Ireland, New Zealand and Norway and peaked at number 11 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts. Worldwide singles were sold over a million, the song was awarded a Golden Record. The Tremeloes also published an Italian version under the title E in Silenzio. In Germany the song reached number 8 in the charts.
