The Siletz River is an approximately 113 km long river in the U.S. state of Oregon. He has two source streams, the South Fork and the North Fork. The South Fork rises to 213 meters above sea level in the Oregon Coast Range near Monmouth in Polk County west of the valley of the Willamette River. It flows in a highly sinuous course through the coastal region of Oregon and changes its flow direction several times before it flows into the Siletz Bay south of Lincoln City to the Pacific. Its name comes from the Indian tribe of Siletz, the southernmost tribe of the coastal Salish. The clear headwaters of the Siletz River is spawning area for Cutthroatforellen, rainbow trout and Chinook salmon, and therefore a popular fishing river.
