Silicon Laboratories

The company Silicon Laboratories (short: Silicon Labs ) is a U.S. manufacturer of integrated circuits, based in Austin, Texas. The company in 1996. Silicon Labs was founded develops and markets analog and mixed analog / digital ( analog / mixed signal) integrated circuits. The manufacturing of the products, however, does not take place within the company, as Silicon Labs is a so-called fabless companies. Are manufactured microchips of foundries.

In December 2003, Silicon Labs, the company took Cygnal, a manufacturer of 8051-compatible microcontrollers. In June, 2013, Silicon Labs took over the company Energy Micro, a manufacturer of highly energy -efficient microcontrollers ARM basis.

Products

Silicon Labs produces a wide range of products. Among the best known products include the 8051 compatible microcontroller.
