The Silver Memorial Bridge is a road bridge over the Ohio River and connects the two places Gallipolis, Ohio, and Henderson in West Virginia. The 600 meter long bridge is constructed in a Gerber beam construction and replaced 1969, two years earlier collapsed Silver Bridge, which was located about 1.5 kilometers upstream. Today, the U.S. Highway 35 via the four-lane bridge, which is traveled by about 25,000 cars a day.

After the collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967 in which 46 people died, the then President Lyndon B. Johnson ordered a nationwide inspection of all bridges. He also announced on 8 February 1968, construction of the Silver Memorial Bridge, which was to replace the collapsed bridge. The construction was completed in 1969 and, exactly two years after the collapse of the old bridge, opened on 15 December 1969.
