Silver screen

A silver screen is a special screen for a slide projector, film projector or video projector. The silver-coated surface provides a low light scattering, thus it provides high brightness at fixed installations.

In the absence of surface sealing, the light is also reflected without changing the plane of polarization, whereby silver screens are used in particular at room image projections. In this application, there are alternatives that offer similar materials, the polarization. IMAX theaters are the only publicly accessible cinemas with silver screens without protective coating.
