Silzen
Silzen is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.
Geography and transport
The municipality is located in Akrug Nature Park on the edge of the forest between Schier Hohenlockstedt and Hohenwestedt. Near the main road runs 77
History
1339 the village was first mentioned. The town's name derives probably from the noble family of Seltzingen, for he was originally Seltzinghe. The Seltzingen family sold it in 1441 to Breide Rantzau to Krummendiek, which in turn gave the village in 1490 to the monastery Itzehoe.
Policy
Since the local elections of 2008, the voters Community KWV has all seven seats on the municipal council.
