Simiyu River

The Simiyu is a river in north- western Tanzania.

Geography

The river rises in the Serengeti National Park at an altitude of about 1680 meters and ends after about 180 km long running in the city Magu Mjini in Lake Victoria. Its most important tributary is the Duma, which is almost as long and flows just before Magu Mjini.

Hydrometrie

Average monthly flow of Simiyu measured at the hydrological station in Magu Mjini, about 10 km upstream of Lake Victoria in m³ / s ( 1999-2004). The Simiyu flowing rain heavily dependent on time, as most of the rivers in the region.
