Simon Biwott

Simon Biwott ( born March 3, 1970 in Eldoret ) is a former Kenyan marathon runner.

In 2000 he won the Berlin Marathon and the Milan City Marathon. In 2001 he won the first Paris Marathon and then with only one second behind second in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton behind Gezahegne Abera ( ETH).

The following year, a victory at the Rotterdam Marathon and a second place at the Berlin Marathon followed in his personal best of 2:06:49.

A nagging injury ended this track record and forced him to declare his retirement from the sport in late 2004. He now devotes himself founded his own school in his hometown.
