Simon Elliott

Simon John Elliott ( born June 10, 1974 in Wellington ) is a New Zealand football player who is currently with the U.S. club San Jose Earthquakes active. He also plays for the New Zealand national team.

Career

As a student, Elliott played at Stanford University and in 1999 moved to the U.S. second division Boston Bulldogs. Here he played for four years before he signed a contract with Los Angeles Galaxy. During his time in Boston, he completed 126 games, scoring 19 goals. In Los Angeles, Elliott played 26 times by 2006, in the summer of 2006 he went to England for the London club Fulham FC, where he played until 2008 12 times in the top league in the country.

Since 2009 League Soccer plays in the Major with the San Jose Earthquakes.

With the New Zealand national team, the midfielder won the OFC Nations Cup in the final against Australia in 2002. He also took part in the Confederations Cup in 2003 and 2009 and was a 2008 New Zealand Olympic squad.
