Simon Kvamm

Simon Kvamm ( born February 18, 1975 in Silkeborg, Denmark ) is a Danish rock singer, known as the frontman of the group Nephew.

Simon is the son of Janus and Elizabeth Kvamm and has a four-year younger brother Stefan. His paternal grandfather was Faroese and comes from Gøta. After high school in Silkeborg he went to the University of Aarhus, where he studied musicology.

In Århus Simon Kvamm 1996 he founded the band Nephew, which today is one of the most famous bands in Denmark. As the front man of the band, he also plays Keytar or Gui - board, a guitar-like keyboard.

But musicology was not so much his thing, and therefore he moved in the late 1990s to Danmarks Journalisthøjskole (Denmark's School of Journalism in Aarhus ). In 2001 he got a job at Danmarks Radio and moved to Copenhagen. Behind and in front of the camera, he was involved in the production of several successful shows including as host of the satirical program Drengene fra Angora.

Meanwhile, the work goes with Nephew on. 2007 Nephew nominated in six categories for the Danish Music Awards ( DMA), Kvamm itself as the best vocalist and best songwriter.
