Simon Santoso (born 29 July 1985 in Tegal, Central Java ) is an Indonesian badminton player.

Career

In his youth he played for Tangkas Jakarta, before he was appointed to the Indonesian national team. In 2005 he won the Robot HCMC Vietnam Satellite and in the same year he won the silver medal at the Southeast Asian Games. He reached the final of the Swiss Open Super Series 2007, the Singapore Super Series 2008 and the Indonesia Super Series 2008. He was also in the semifinals of the Japan Super Series 2007 and the Chinese Taipei Open 2007. 2008 and 2010 he won the Chinese Taipei Open. In October 2009 he won the Denmark Super Series 2009 and thus his first Super Series title, in the final he beat the German Marc Zwiebler with 21-14, 21-6. He reached gold at the Southeast Asian Games in 2009, after he beat his compatriot Sony Dwi Kuncoro in the final.

Private

Simon is the youngest of 4 children of Hosea Liem (father), and Rachel Yanti (mother). His hobbies are swimming and comics.
