Simona Paggi

Simona Paggi (* in Milan ) is an Italian film editor.

Life

Paggi was born in the 1960s. After their schooling Paggi gained first a diploma in photography and graphic design at the " ITSOS " and then visited the Milan Film School " albedo " where she focused on film editing and also graduated.

Paggi began in the 1980s to work as an assistant editor, but also gained experience in sound editing and was engaged for documentaries. The film Open doors by Gianni Amelio was her first feature film production as an independent editor and she was the same nominated for the David di Donatello. The director followed several joint projects, until in the 2000s. Overall Paggi was previously involved in more than 50 productions. She has worked with all major Italian directors of the new generation.

In 1992 she won a David di Donatello for the film Stolen Children. Four other nominations followed. For her work on Life is beautiful she was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1999 for the award in the category Best Editing.
