Simone Corsi

Simone Corsi ( born April 24, 1987 in Rome, Lazio, Italy ) is an Italian motorcycle racer. He became in 2008 Vice World Champion in the 125cc class of the MotoGP World Championship.

Career

Corsi began at age 4 with the motorcycle sport, the son of a Motocross rider Stefano Corsi it seemed the talent in the cradle to have been laid. He was active until 2000 in the mini bike scene as his (now ) more successful compatriots Valentino Rossi and Marco Melandri and won twice in the Italian championship. It followed the road to the Italian motorcycle road championship on a 125 cc engine with tenth place in his first race in 2001. World Motorcycle Championship

Corsi went on the side of Andrea Dovizioso (World Champion 2004) in Team Scot in the 125 cc class in 2003 and 2004. He scored a podium finish (3rd ) at the Grand Prix of Japan at Motegi.

The one-year change in the 250 cc class in 2005 not tied with a fifth place in the Grand Prix of Spain at the ascending form of previous years. Corsi moved back to the 125 - cc class; the steady improvement in the overall rankings proved him right. His first Grand Prix victory he celebrated at the third race of the season in 2007, the Grand Prix of Turkey, Istanbul.
