Simone Drexel

Simone Drexel ( born May 13, 1957 in St. Gallen) is a Swiss singer.

In 1973, she won first place in the talent competition of the youth magazine Bravo. The entry of Drexel into the music business was as a teenager, the Euro vision appearance in 1975 in Stockholm. With the song Mikado they ersang the 6th Place for Switzerland. Also in the charts of their home, the single was a huge success (2nd place), but she decided after a few more singles against a long-term career as a pop singer. After training as a medical practice assistant Drexel married a musician who changed her last name to Johnson and mother in 1984. A year later she began working in a care setting transfusion laboratory in which they operate is still (as of May 2006).

In recent years, she also took her singing career back on and sang in various blues, rock, bossa and jazz formations. In 2001, she sang her hit single Mikado again as part of a fan club meeting of the " Euro Vision clubs Switzerland ". She is now working as a singing teacher ( specialty breathing technique ) and as front woman of the singing group Bluesonix.
