Simone Simoni

Simon Simonius (* 1522 in Lucca, † 1602; Amadeus also Curtius Ticinensis ) was an Italian physician.

Since he joined the Protestantism, left Simonius Italy and went to Switzerland to Geneva, where he in 1565 became professor of Artes. Later he went to Heidelberg and moved to Leipzig in 1569. In the Electorate of Saxony, he became physician to the Elector August. But Simonius was not in Saxony, but moved on to Silesia and Poland.

His daughter Magdalena remained in Leipzig, where she married the mayor Friedrich Mayer 1610 and later architect Jacob Mayer gave birth.
