Simone Thomaschinski

Simone Heike Thomaschinski ( born April 4, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main, and after marriage Gräßer, later Zimmermann) is a former German hockey player and Olympian.

Simone Thomaschinski began her career at Eintracht Frankfurt. After she had won in the Youth 1985 and 1987 the German indoor championship, she won the title in 1991 Eintracht field hockey. She then moved to RTHC Bayer Leverkusen.

1988 won Simone Thomaschinski at the European Junior Championships, 1989, she was Junior World Champion. 1990 debuted the defensive player of the German national hockey team. She reached with the German team in eighth place at the 1990 World Cup and second place at the European Championship in 1991. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona Thomaschinski was in all five games there and won the silver medal after the 1-2 defeat against Spain. This was followed by the fourth place at the World Championships in 1994 and bronze at the European Championships in 1995. During their second at the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, the German team came in sixth. After a maternity leave, she returned as Simone Gräßer 1999 in the German team back and won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1999.
