Simpelius (crater)

Simpelius is an impact crater in the extreme south of the lunar front side, southeast of the crater Manzinus and southwest of Moretus. The rim is eroded and the interior is flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Scottish Jesuit and mathematician Hugo Sempilius.
