Simply Red

Simply Red were a British band. They consisted of frontman and singer Mick Hucknall and various, partly changing, other musicians. End of October 2007 Hucknall announced that the group disband after completion of the upcoming tour in 2010 and he will continue to work as a solo artist.

Simply Red have sold in their 25 - year existence about 50 million records.

Band History

The debut single of the band Money's Too Tight ( To Mention ) (1985, a cover version of a song of the Valentine Brothers) reached the British Top 20 and her song Holding Back the Years came in 1986 at number one in the United States.

The band's name

In the first place the band name comes from a nickname of the singer Mick Hucknall. Because of his red hair, he was already known in the School of friends Red.
