Sinan Åžamil Sam

Sinan Samil Sam ( born June 23, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a retired Turkish boxer.

Amateur

Sinan Samil Sam was an amateur nine times Turkish champions. His first international success was the second place in the middleweight class at the Junior European Championships in Edinburgh in 1992, he lost it in the final against Vasily Shirov.

Professional career

His professional debut took place on 15 April 2000. His coach was Fritz Sdunek, his managers were Ahmet Öner and Klaus- Peter Kohl at the Universum Box-Promotion. On 17 October 2002, he won the European title with a victory over Poland Przemysław Saleta. Sam became the first Turkish boxer who could win in a higher weight class than the light welterweight a European title.
