Sinecure

Sinecure ( shortened to Latin sine cura animarum " without concern for the souls ," that is, without the obligation of pastoral care ) means an office, with the income, but no official obligations. Originally found in purely ecclesiastical sphere ( church office, benefice ), the term was transferred later to the state sector, such as civil servants positions for deserving officers.
