Sipbachzell is an Austrian municipality in Hausruckviertel in the district of Wels-Land in Upper Austria with 1865 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Geography

Sipbachzell is located on 366 m altitude in Hausruckviertel.

The expansion is 7.7 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 6.4 km. The total area is 24.8 km ². 15.7 % of the area is forested, 77.4 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

For the prehistoric colonization of the municipality of Sipbachzell speaks a hoard from the Late Bronze Age ( urnfield time) was found in Giering. The municipality colors are yellow and red. The Sipbach in place names is represented by the blue wave band in the upper part of the crest. The Wheat refers to the domestic origin and development center of the Upper Austrian landraces of wheat in the commons area around Sipbachzell. The dragon represents the relationship to Saint Margaret, patron saint of the church and parish ago.

  • Parish Sipbachzell: The St. Margaret consecrated was built in 1478. The parish church is a late Gothic hall church with a remarkable net vault in the choir and the nave. The 32-meter high tower is built in the style of a late Gothic fortified church.
