Sir Archibald Edmonstone, 3rd Baronet

Sir Archibald Edmonstone, 3rd Baronet ( born March 12, 1795 in London, † March 13, 1871 ) was a British traveler and author.

Archibald Edmonstone was the eldest son of Sir Charles Edmonstone, 2nd Baronet, and Emma Bootle. He married his cousin Emma Wilbraham. Since 1819 Edmonstone toured the Lower Egyptian al - Kharga and Dakhla ad. Together with Bernardino Drovetti and Frédéric Cailliaud he is one of the earliest travelers who have also published their observations. The mountain near Deir el- Hagar in the north of the valley ad - Dakhla today bears his name.
