Sir Edmund Whittaker Memorial Prize

The Whittaker Prize ( Sir Edmund Whittaker Memorial Prize ) of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society is ( Pure Mathematics Applied mathematics, statistics, mathematical physics ) is awarded every four years for outstanding work in mathematics. The winners may be at the time of awarding more than 35 years old and must be connected to Scottish universities, either with a degree from such a university or a minimum of three years of research stay. The prize money is at least 50 pounds. It is named after Edmund Whittaker, the professor was in Edinburgh, and was by his son John Macnaughten Whittaker, also a professor of mathematics in 1956 donated ( and fitted with a sum of 500 pounds).
