Sir Harford Jones-Brydges, 1st Baronet

Sir Harford Jones Brydges of ( born January 12, 1764 † March 17, 1847 at his country estate in Boultibrook near Presteigne ) was a British ambassador.

Life

Harford Jones was the son of Winifred and Hardford Jones from Presteign. In his work for the British East India Company, he acquired knowledge of oriental languages.

He was Attorney-General and Doctor of Laws. On October 9, 1807, the title of baronet was created for him. From 1807 to 1810 he was Envoy Extraordinary ( Envoy Extraordinary ) and Ministre plénipotentiaire of George III. at the court of Fath Ali Shah in Tehran.

On May 4, 1826 him passing the name of Brydges was additive, with entry into the Royal Sign Manual, granted. 1832 was sworn in as a member of the Privy Council. In 1842 he was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Herefordshire. He was a staunch Whig, made in Radnorshire constituency election campaign and was organized in the Grey Coat Club.
