Sirindhorn

Maha Chakri Sirindhorn ( born April 2, 1955 in Bangkok, Thailand) is princess of the Kingdom of Thailand. She is the third child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit Kitiyakara.

Life

The Princess has three siblings, the elder princess Ubol Ratana Rajakanya, Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn the older and the younger Princess Chulabhorn Walailak. She is unmarried and has no children.

Princess Sirindhorn graduated in 1976 a study of history at Chulalongkorn University with a bachelor 's degree. Then she specialized in the classical languages of South Asia, concluded in 1978 with a Masters in Oriental Epigraphy (Sanskrit and Khmer ) from Silpakorn University in 1980 and with a from in Sanskrit and Pali of Chulalongkorn University. It was in 1987 promoted by the Srinakharinwirot University to the doctor in development education.

From 1979 she taught as a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University study generals program, from 1980 in the academic branch of Chulachomklao Military Academy of the Thai army, where she heads the Department of History.

Sirindhorn is involved in a number of charitable projects and organizations. Since 1977 she is executive vice director of the Thai Red Cross Society. The title Maha Chakri ( " Great Chakri " ) and Sayam Boroma Rajakumari ( " Siam's most exalted princess " ) were conferred by her father in 1977. She is the first princess of the Chakri Dynasty ( since 1782 on the throne ), who wears it. He is considered the female equivalent of the title Sayam Makut Rajakumarn ( " Crown Prince of Siam " ) her brother Vajiralongkorn. Together with the constitutional amendment of 1974, which allows female succession, it led to speculation as to whether Sirindhorn should be built instead of the infamous Vajiralongkorn as successor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which many Thais have advocated.
