The vagina Iberian Mountains ( also Castilian vagina mountains, Cordillera Central, as well as Spanish- Portuguese: Sistema Central and Cordillera Central) is a mountain system in the center of the Iberian Peninsula. It runs in the western part of the West to the East and the eastern part of southwest to northeast. The Iberian vagina Mountains is about 700 km long and extends from Portugal to the Iberian Mountains ( Spanish: Sistema Ibérico ).

The Iberian Mountains vagina is divided from east to west in the mountain ranges:

The mountains on the Spanish side not only share the Castilian highlands, but also separate Castile - Leon in the north of Castile -La Mancha and Extremadura to the south. Historically the mountain was the border between Old Castile in the north and in the south of Castilla La Mancha. At the same time through the Iberian Mountains divide the catchment areas of the rivers Duero / Douro and Tagus / Tejo (both Spanish and Portuguese spelling) are separated. The highest point of the mountain is the mountain Pico Almanzor with 2,592 m height, which is located in the Sierra de Gredos.

Mountains

The term Iberian vagina Mountains ( Spanish: Sistema Central) is a term that is not actually used by the residents of the area. The residents look rather different mountains, than the entire vagina Mountains. (: Sierras Spanish) Viewed from west to east, the Spanish vagina mountains of the following individual mountain ranges of:

  • Serra da Lousã in Portugal ( Beira Litoral province, the highest mountain: Trevim, 1204 m)
  • Serra da Gardunha in Central Portugal (highest mountain: 1227 m)
  • Serra da Estrela in central Portugal, (the highest mountain: Estrela, 1,991 m)
  • Sierra de Gata, in the provinces of Cáceres and Salamanca (highest mountain Pico Jalama, 1,493 m)
  • Sierra de Francia (or Sierra de la Peña de Francia ), south of the province of Salamanca (highest mountain Pico Hastiala, 1,783 m)
  • Sierra de Béjar, in the provinces of Cáceres, Ávila and Salamanca (highest mountain: Canchal de la Ceja, 2,430 m)
  • Sierra de Villafranca, in the province of Ávila (highest mountain: Cerro Moro, 2,059 m)
  • La Serrota, in the province of Ávila (highest mountain: Cerro del Santo, 2,294 m)
  • Sierra de la Paramera, in the province of Ávila (highest mountain Pico Zapatero, 2,160 m)
  • Sierra de Ávila, in the province of Ávila (highest mountain: Cerro de Gorría, 1,727 m)
  • Sierra de Gredos, in the provinces of Ávila, Toledo and Cáceres (highest mountain Pico Almanzor, 2,592 m)
  • Sierra de Malagon, in the provinces of Ávila, Madrid and Segovia (highest mountain Cueva Valiente, 1,903 m)
