Sister Wife

Sister Wife is a produced in 2000 documentary about some African-Americans who were tired of the hard life in lack of the slums in the U.S. and, motivated by their loss of identity, moved in 1969 to the south of Israel to communities with a new identity founded. The members of these communities were known as Hebrew Israelites who only believe in the law of the Torah and practice polygamy as in biblical times.

Sister Wife ironically describes this alternative form of living in a patriarchal community using the example of an attempt to integrate another woman in an existing marriage.
