Sitamau State

Sitamau was one of the princely states of Central India Agency of British India in what is now the state of Madhya Pradesh. Its capital was the place Sitamau. Raja Kesho of Ratlam from the house of Rathore Rajput state of Marwar ( Jodhpur ) had fallen during the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in disgrace and his fief had been taken from him. After the Mughal emperor had forgiven him, he gave him 1701 Sitamau that but over the Marathenkriege came under the suzerainty of the Scindia of Gwalior.

Sitamau 1819-1947 was a British protectorate in 1901 and had an area of 532 km ² and 24,000 inhabitants.
