Šitbořice

Šitbořice ( German Schüttboritz, formerly Schittborzitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-west of Klobouky u Brna and belongs to Okres Břeclav.

Geography

Šitbořice is located in the hills of the Highlands Boleradická, a western spur of Steinitzer forest in the source basin of the creek Šitbořický creek. To the north rises the Strážky (290 m), to the east the Šitbořické nové Mountains, southeast of the Staré Hory Šitbořické (323 m) and in the south of Lichy (331 m). To the west of the village lies the pond Dvorsky fishpond.

Neighboring towns are Těšany in the north, Borkovany in the northeast, Marti Nice in the southeast, Diváky in the south, and Nikolčice Křepice the southwest, Nový Dvůr in the west and Jalovisko and Moutnice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological discoveries in the field of community date back to the Neolithic period. According to tradition, is on Hradisko hill in the center a firmament be confessed that should have belonged to a Ješutboř around the year 1000.

The first written mention of Ješutbořice including the pastor and a stone church was in 1255 as a possession of the Lords of Lomnice. In 1317, Catherine gave of Deblín after the death of her husband Bag by Lomnitz the church patronage in Ořechov and Jestbořice and villages Velké Blažovice, Malé Blažovice Ořechovičky and her husband donated the Dominican convent of St. Anna in Brno. Since the 14th century Šitbořice gained as a viticultural significance and later received a private mining law. After numerous changes of ownership acquired in 1824 the brothers Augustin and Ignatz Neuwall of the estate and joined it to their rule Klobouky. Until the mid-19th century Šitbořice thereafter remained subservient always Klobouky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Šitbořice / Schittborzitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Auspitz. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1898. After the district town Auspitz were added to the German Reich in 1938 as a result of the Munich Agreement, Šitbořice was then to 1945 assigned to the District Policy Brno-Country and the jurisdiction Klobouky. 1940 was the village of 600 houses. After the end of World War II the Okres Hustopeče was restored. After its completion in 1960 is part of the repeal Šitbořice Okres Břeclav. 1998 and 2001, won the community at Village of the Year competition in Okres Břeclav and the Brno region. To the east and south of the village there are vineyards.

Šitbořice is one of the centers of the Czech Radballsports and was the venue of several international tournaments. About the Radball also the community partnership with Dinhard developed. Many athletes of TJ Šitbořice attended Radballweltmeisterschaften.

Attractions

  • Church of Sts. Nicholas, the neo-Romanesque structure was built in the years 1910 - 1911 instead of 1909 because of the danger of collapse broken Gothic previous building from the 15th century. In 1913 she was first to St.. Consecrated Wenzel, but later returned to the St.. Nicholas
