Sitters

Sitters is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel, which has its headquarters in the town of Alsenz.

Geography

Sitters is located in the north- Palatinate mountains north of the Palatinate Forest. To the north lies Obermoschel, east of Oberndorf and the southwest lies Schiersfeld.

The local council in Sitters consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights

Near Sitters is the ruin of Moschellandsburg. The Protestant church was completed in 1849 and rebuilt in 1888. In the center of the old school house from 1846 is the village hall. At the cemetery, you will find some old grave stones that are real masterpieces of stone sculpture.
