In April 1967 the club merged with the two smaller local organizations Sivas Sivas Yolspor and Kızılırmakspor to today's club Sivasspor Kulübü or in the short form to Sivasspor. As a symbol of these three clubs, the club logo includes three stars. Background of this club was founded following:

In the season 1963/64, the second highest in the Turkish league professional football was founded as a single-track league with 13 teams. This league was followed by the founding Erstligagründung the summer of 1959, the. Was the first nationwide discharged professional league in Turkish football, the Milli Lig was with its present name the Süper Lig, introduced In the first five seasons of the league, the first image that only participating teams from the three major cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir at the game and the remaining provinces of Turkey stayed away from the League revealed. Only Adana Demirspor from the fourth largest city of Adana made it in the summer of 1960 in the Milli Lig, but already rose after a season again. Following these developments, the Turkish Football Federation decided to start early 1960s a project, which could participate in the professional football happening all provinces of Turkey under the leadership of the Association President Orhan Şeref Apak. To this end, all the provinces were informed nation's governors, mayors and notables that, if not present, could, by the creation of a competitive soccer club, their province in this league.
