Sivry -Rance is a municipality in the Belgian province of Hainaut.

The municipality is located in the Valley of Thure and includes the towns of Grandrieu, Montbliart, Rance, Sautin and Sivry.

Neighbouring communities Sivry -Rance is bordered in the north by the municipality of Beaumont, on the west by Froidchapelle, in the south of Chimay and to the west by the French Nord.

Marble Museum

In the district of Rance is the Musée national du marbre, the National Marble Museum, the former degradation of a red-brown limestone ( Marbre de Rance ) in localnear quarries and predominantly reddish-brown variations in Philippeville dedicated. The limestone of Rance was built in the time of the upper Devonian ( Frasnian ). These rocks were used in Belgium and France for exclusive purposes. For example, the Marbre de Rance in the Palace of Versailles has been processed for the design of the Hall of Mirrors (Galerie des Glaces ).
