Siwa culture

The Siwa culture or Siba culture (Chinese寺 洼 文化, pinyin Siwa Wenhua, English Siwa Culture / Siba Culture) was a Bronze Age culture in the area of ​​Gansu province, China. It was first discovered in Siwashan寺 洼 山, in Lintao county临洮 县( Gansu ), hence their name.

The Siwa culture was distributed mainly in the area of the upper reaches of the river Tao He洮河. Jars with saddle-shaped openings (马鞍 口 陶罐, ma'ankou taoguan ) are one of their main characteristics, it already occur bronze artifacts.

The Siwa culture is dated to the period of about 1400-1100 BC. Perhaps the cultures of the peoples of di (氐, DI ) and Qiang go (羌, Qiang ) back on them.

The site of Siwa (寺 洼 遗址, Yizhi Siwa, Siwa English site) is since 2006 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-204 ).
