Sixten Ehrling

Sixten Ehrling ( born April 3, 1918 in Malmö, Sweden, † 13 February 2005 in New York City ) was a Swedish conductor.

Ehrling studied from 1936 to 1941 at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm (piano, violin, composition, diplomas in music lessons, organ, conducting ). In 1941, he spent reasons of study for a year at the Semperoper in Dresden, where he assisted Karl Böhm.

Sixten Ehrling made ​​his breakthrough as a conductor in 1950, where he conducted a concert in the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra Igor Stravinsky's " Sacre du Printemps ".
