SK Motorlet Prague

The SK Motorlet Prague is a Czech sports club from the district of Prague Jinonice. The football team of the club played 1963/64, in the 1st Czechoslovak league.

Football

History

On September 14, 1912, a football team was set up in Butovice, nine months later, it came to the establishment of an official sports clubs. 1930 was renamed the SK Praha XVII. Before the Second World War, the club could not celebrate national achievements. In 1949 there was a great player bloodletting, which could be compensated by a merger with ZSJ Praha Jinonice, the company's former team SK Walter Jinonice.

In 1953 there was a major reorganization of the sport in Czechoslovakia, almost all the clubs was given a new name. From Sokol Šverma Jinonice was Spartak Praha Motorlet, named after a resident in the same district of Prague engine manufacturer. Two years later, 1955, Motorlet played for the promotion to the second division. On the final day, there was a decisive battle against the rise of direct competitors Spartak Ústí nad Labem. With the score at 5-1 for Motorlet some visiting fans stormed the court, the game had to be stopped. On Green Table Motorlet was awarded the victory, making the elf from Jinonice was second-rate for the first time in club history.

In the next few years, the team placed mostly in the midfield. 1962/63 Motorlet won the Group A of the Second Division and was promoted to the first Czechoslovak league. On May 26, 1963 before 12,000 spectators Motorlet won in the Stadion Eden Slavia Prague the deciding game against the persecutors Kovo Decin 3-1.

The first league proved, however, as a step too high for Motorlet. With just one win and five draw from 26 matches and a goal difference of 13:67 the team rose as Table again. Also in the second division could not be stopped with Motorlet was undoing that this has been reduced from three to two groups.

Once more Motorlet returned to the 2nd league 1983 / 84th From 1994, the Entrepreneur Georgis Patenidis tried to bring the club to the top, where he named the club after himself, after six years, he saw the project as a failure and withdrew.

2003, the team got off even from the 4th league, but made ​​the chances of promotion.

In the Eternal table of the Czechoslovak League 1945-1993 Motorlet Prague occupied by 55 teams on the 52nd.

1953 there was a major reorganization of the sport in Czechoslovakia, where many clubs were disbanded or merged. Here, the I. ČLTK Prague, founded in 1893 and previously independent was disbanded and incorporated as section Motorlet Hockey in Prague. Outstanding players of the club were Luděk Bukač, Karel Masopust, František Výborný, Augustin Bubník, Jaroslav Jagr, Oldrich Kucera, Jaroslav Drobný and Vladimír Kobranov. In addition Slavomír Lener and Jaroslav Hlinka began their careers in this club.

1998 the Hockey department was closed and the remaining ten players move to Bohemians Prague.
