Skalica District

The Okres Skalica is an administrative region in the north- west of Slovakia with 46 134 inhabitants ( 2004) and an area of 359 km ².

The district lies to the west of the foothills of the White Carpathians and ends in the west at the March. It is bordered to the north and west of the Czech Republic (more precisely to the Okres Hodonín ), to the east by the district Myjava in the Trenčín Region and to the south by the district of Senica.

Historically, the area is located in the former county Neutra (see also List of historic counties of Hungary ).
