Skalnaté pleso observatory

The Observatory Skalnaté Pleso (Slovak Observatory Skalnaté Pleso ) is an observatory in Slovakia. It was founded in 1943 and used for astrometric tasks of the Higher Geodesy. The building also houses a meteorological observation station. It is located above the village Tatranská Lomnica in 1786 m altitude and is surrounded by a ski resort.

There are a 61cm Newtonian telescope and a 60cm Cassegrain telescope in a dome of the observatory ever.
