Skaun is a commune (municipality) in Central Norway.

Administrative seat is the place Børsa, more settlements are Buvika, Venn, Viggja and Eggkleiva. The community is rural. Most residents commute to their jobs in the 25 km eastern Trondheim.

The trilogy Kristin Lavransdatter Nobel laureate Sigrid Undset has its Handlungsort to a large extent in the area, in the medieval Husaby near Venn.
