Skern Runestone

The rune stones from Skjern stand in the churchyard of Skjern, near Randers in Central Jutland in Denmark.

The smaller 1843 discovered rune stone was broken and had been immured in Karnhaus the Church of Skjern. He is quite damaged and his inscription can be deciphered only: " ... Osbjern ... his ... Harald's ... "

The larger, well-preserved runes or mask stone was found in the ruins of the castle Skjerner. To a central grotesque mask, which has a great affinity with the stone of Sjellebro, a runic belt loops with the inscription: " Sasgard, Finnulvs daughter, this stone for Odinkar the son Osbjørns, the expensive and prince close loyal built (actually: the Prince faithful ). A magician ( to ) the man ( hit, curse, enchant ) which destroys this monument.

The stone is not younger than 950 AD
